Why is my weight loss slowing 6 months in?

Asked by Tom, CA · 2026-04-22 · 98 helpful

Clinician answer

A plateau around month 6-9 is normal — metabolic adaptation reduces the deficit your dose creates. Three checks: are you hitting protein (0.7-1.0 g/lb body weight)? Are you lifting weights ≥2×/week to preserve muscle? Is your dose at the prescribed target? If all three are yes, this may be your sustainable maintenance.
