HomeToolsMissed Dose Guide

30-second decision tool

Missed your GLP-1 dose? Here’s exactly what to do.

Tell us which medication and how many days late you are. We’ll return the FDA-label-based action — inject now, skip and resume, or call your prescriber.

Decision logic transcribed from the FDA prescribing information for each medication (accessdata.fda.gov). Always defer to your prescriber for repeated misses, dose changes, or any clinical concern.

FAQ

  • How late can I take my weekly Wegovy / Ozempic / Mounjaro / Zepbound dose?

Up to 5 days late, per the FDA prescribing information for each of those medications. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the dose and resume your normal weekly schedule. Your next dose should always be at least 72 hours after the prior one.

  • Should I double the next dose to make up for a missed one?

No. Every GLP-1 label explicitly says not to double-dose. Doubling sharply increases the risk of severe nausea, vomiting, and dehydration.

  • What if I missed a daily Saxenda or Rybelsus dose?

Skip the missed day. Take the next scheduled dose at its normal time. Three or more consecutive missed days usually requires re-titration from the starting dose under prescriber supervision.
